Mahut, a former finalist at Queen’s Club defeated Murray in 2012 at Queen’s Club and owns a 1-4 lifetime record against the four-time champion.
If the seeds hold Murray will face eighth-seeded Gilles Simon in the quarters, and either fourth-seeded Richard Gasquet or fifth-seeded Marin Cilic in the semis.
Other enticing first-round matchups at Queen’s Club include Nick Kyrgios vs. Milos Raonic, Stan Wawrinka vs. Fernando Verdsasco and John Isner vs. Juan Martin del Potro.
