The coaching carousel continues its perpetual cycle on the WTA Tour. WTA Rising Star Garbine Muguruza was the latest to announce a coaching split in the same week that saw Eugenie Bouchard begin to work (though not permanently) with Jimmy Connors.

According to WTA Insider Courtney Nguyen, Muguruza split with her longtime coach, Alejo Mancisidor, after her loss in Cincinnati.
Muguruza, who has lost both her matches in straight sets since playing the Wimbledon final, will open her U.S. Open by facing Germany’s Carina Witthoeft. The Spaniard defeated Witthoeft in Stuttgart qualifying in straight-sets in 2013. It was their only professional meeting.
Mancisidor guided Muguruza to the Top-10 and two Roland Garros quarterfinals in addition to her Wimbledon final this season. Eurosport and others have speculated that Muguruza could by coached by Conchita Martinez during the Open.
