Nick Kyrgios talked his way into trouble on Wednesday night and faced the fall-out today.
The ATP announced today it has fined Kyrgios $10,000 for his "insulting remark" during his Rogers Cup win over Stan Wawrinka Wednesday night.
"The ATP has announced that Nick Kyrgios has been fined the maximum on site amount of $10,000 for an insulting comment he made to Stan Wawrinka during their second-round match at the Rogers Cup in Montreal, Canada," the tour said in a statement.
The ATP also said that it is still reviewing the matter and additional penalties may be forthcoming.

On-court microphones picked up the 20-year-old Aussie make a crude comment about Wawrinka's girlfriend, WTA player Donna Vekic, and Thanasi Kokkinakis, Kyrgios' buddy and Davis Cup teammate.
Kyrgios, who reportedly offered a bit of a half-hearted apology in person to Wawrinka last night, issued a formal public apology today on Facebook.
When Kyrgios took the court to face John Isner today, he was met with mostly boos but some cheers by the Montreal crowd.
