Air space over Centre Court is a bit busy this month.

Rufus the Hawk has a new aerial ally.

A Holly Blue butterfly is your tour guide for the official 2026 Wimbledon trailer.

Titled “Where Beauty meets the Battle”, the trailer is the second instalment of “There is Only One Wimbledon” campaign, which launched last year.

The trailer plays on “the peaceful elegance of ‘tennis in an English garden’, shattered by the dynamic shots on court, as players push themselves to their limits to secure victory,” Wimbledon said in a statement.

Butterflies represent nature’s transformative power and this butterfly story is grounded in a real-life Wimbledon exchange French left-shotmaker Henri Leconte had with an enthusiastic butterfly at the 1986 Wimbledon.

“I played very well and then something wonderful happened. I was shaping up to serve and this beautiful white butterfly landed at my feet,” Leconte recalls. “Usually, most people would stamp on it to get on with things, but I picked it up and it stayed on my racket, I walked it over to the crowd and it flew into the stands. The people went nuts!”

Devoted Wimbledon fans often bring binoculars to spot tennis’ “Real Hawk-Eye” Rufus the Hawk, who patrols Centre Court to keep the historic grass grounds Pistol Pete Sampras famously called “a tennis cathedral” free from pigeon party crashers.

Wimbledon is set for June 29th-July 12th.
