An iconic champion will launch her comeback on a historic court.

The 23-time Grand Slam champion Serena Williams is planning to launch her comeback at the WTA 500-level Queen’s Club tournament on grass June 8-14th, according to published reports and former No. 1. Andy Roddick.

The 44-year-old Serena, who can take a wild card into Queen’s Club, is expected to play doubles alongside 19-year-old Canadian phenom Victoria Mboko, according to Andy Roddick’s Served podcast.

The news comes a couple of months after former world No. 1 Novak Djokovic predicted a Serena comeback during his Indian Wells presser.

“I think she’s coming back,” Djokovic told the media in Indian Wells. “I don’t know. I haven’t spoken to her, but I guess the sentiment is that she’s coming back.

“Where and how, singles, doubles, we don’t know, and if I’m in her position, I would hide it too.”

Grand Slam king Djokovic predicted Serena would aim to return for a grass-court event before playing Wimbledon, which starts on June 29th.

“I pick that one [Wimbledon] as well as her comeback, but yeah, I don’t know,” Djokovic said. “I think she might maybe play a doubles tournament or two with Venus. That would be nice to see, just from my point of view and tennis fans, for sure.

“Yeah, and she’s one of the greatest athletes, really. It would be great to have her back too.”

Four-time Olympic gold-medal champion Serena has not yet responded to the reports, but shared shots of her visit to Nike headquarters.

Alycia Parks, who said she practiced with the former world No. 1, told Tennis Majors Serena “would kill it on Tour” if she comes back.

“She is in great shape. So I think she would kill it on tour,” Parks told Tennis Majors in an exclusive interview.

The owner of 73 career singles championships, Serena Williams has not played a match since bowing to Ajla Tomljanovic at the 2022 US Open.

Following her win over fellow American Emma Navarro at Roland Garros today, talented teenager Iva Jovic said a Serena return is “incredible” for the sport.

“I think it’s amazing. I just saw the confirmation on my phone a couple hours ago,” Jovic said. “It’s really
cool. I have never seen Serena in real life. Obviously I grew up watching her. In my entire childhood she was dominating tennis, so it’s going to be incredible.

“I think it’s really good for the sport. I think it’s going to make a lot of headlines and it’s something that people are going to talk about. I’m looking forward to it and I think it’s very positive.”
