24-year-old Lehecka recently split with longtime coach Michal Navratil, after eight years. He reached his first Masters 1000 final this year at Miami.
Tennis ExpressFontang has previously worked with Jeremy Chardy, Caroline Garcia and Vasek Pospisil.
Seeded No.1 at Los Cabos, Lehecka will face Coleman Wong in his first match with Fontang at the helm.
