Novak Djokovic will put his perfect record on the line at this week’s China Open in Beijing. The 101-time ATP titlist has won six titles from six appearances in the Chinese capital, and he carries a 29-0 record into this year’s draw.
39-year-old Djokovic will face Nuno Borges in first-round action and then the winner of Juan Manuel Cerundolo and Bu Yunchaokete if he is victorious.
Djokovic is sitting in top-seeded Alexander Zverev’s quarter of the draw. The German will face Cameron Norrie in round one. The Serbian icon is 14-7 on the season, taking his career win and loss record to 1177-240.
The 32-player draw also includes second-seeded Felix Auger-Aliassime, Hangzhou champion Daniil Medvedev, Flavio Cobolli, Alex de Minaur and Jakub Mensik.
Three Chinese wild cards – Bu, Shang Juncheng and Zhang Zhizhen – are in the mix.
In total, five top 10 players are in action (Djokovic is ranked No.11).
