More and more we are seeing the advent of the three-week major. Last week the US Open tallied 239,307 fans during fan week in 2025, which included the newly revamped mixed doubles competition.

The Australian is following suit this year.

The event announced that it reeled in 29,261 fans for Day 1 of qualifying, nearly four times what it saw last year.

According to a report in the Guardian, the qualifying week drew 116,000 fans last year and the Australian Open hopes to double that number.

In addition to qualifying and various practice sessions around the grounds, the Australian Open is touting the One Point Slam, a promotion that allows celebrities and amateurs compete with top professionals for a significant prize.
