ATP Rankings After RG: Cobolli Cracks Top 10, Arnaldi and Berrettini Surge

Three Italians made the quarterfinals at this year’s Roland-Garros, marking the first time in the Open Era that three Italians have achieved the feat at the same major. It’s a remarkable accomplishment, especially considering that Jannik Sinner and Lorenzo Musetti – the nation’s two highest-ranked men – were not part of the festivities.

Along with the strong performances on the Parisian clay came significant ranking boosts for all three.

Cobolli, who reached his first major final before falling to Alexander Zverev in a thrilling championship match on Sunday, rises to a career-high No. 10, making his Top 10 debut.

Matteo Arnaldi, who reached his first career semifinal before withdrawing due to illness, jumps 70 spots from No. 104 to No. 34.

Matteo Berrettini, who fell to Arnaldi in the quarterfinals, climbs 57 spots to No. 48.

Arnaldi and Berrettini are the two biggest risers inside the Top 100, but they aren’t the only players making strides. American Zachary Svajda jumped 23 spots from No. 85 to No. 62, while lucky loser Jesper de Jong also climbed 23 places, from No. 106 to No. 83, after reaching the fourth round.

Inside the Top 10, Novak Djokovic drops three spots from No. 4 to No. 7.

Inside the Top 25, Jakub Mensik rises 10 spots to No. 17 on the strength of his first major semifinal, while Rafael Jodar moves up six spots to No. 23 after reaching his first major quarterfinal.
