Alcaraz Withdraws from Cincinnati
The Spaniard has delayed his comeback to the tour by at least another few weeks.
Carlos Alcaraz’s long awaited comeback will have to wait.
The seven-time Grand Slam champion has withdrawn from the Cincinnati Open, which begins on August 13th and runs through August 23rd.
Alcaraz won his first Cincinnati title in 2025, defeating Jannik Sinner in an abbreviated final.
Alcaraz recently began training on court after missing four months due to a right wrist injury, but is not ready to compete yet.
He is on the entry list for the US Open, and if he plays it would be his first competitive tennis since he left the court with a wrist injury after a win over Otto Virtanen in Barcelona.
He started the year by winning his seventh major title at the Australian Open, where he became the youngest male player to ever win the career Grand Slam.
