The news that tennis fans everywhere have been hoping for came in the form of a short video on Wednesday: Carlos Alcaraz hitting forehands with freedom, no significant brace on his injured right wrist.

What does it mean for the seven-time major champion, with regard to his chances of competing at Cincinnati and the US Open, where he is already on the entry list? It’s not bad news, that’s for sure, but it isn’t a guarantee that the Spaniard is ready to play.
