As it Turns Out, Roger Federer WOULD Hurt a Fly
By Chris Oddo
(May 14, 2013) --
Roger Federer
is often thought of as regal, gentle, classy, and when he's on the court, graceful. But when it comes to swatting flies, the 17-time Grand Slam champion is more than willing to get down and dirty to notch a victory. In short, he may win gorgeous--like one of the members of
Pina Bausch's dance company
(see video below if you are not familiar with Pina Bausch)--on the tennis court, but at home, when faced with a horse fly, he's more than happy to score an ugly victory and get on with his day.
In his
new add for Nike
, Federer first uses a rolled up magazine, then a broom, to murder an innocent fly who just happens to be, like all of the players who have fallen to Federer over the course of his 893-win, 76-title career, on the wrong side of the draw.
Finally, just as the situation threatens to turn dire, Fed yanks off a Nike trainer and gets the job done with an exclamation point.
Score another victory for the maestro. But too bad Nike didn't so something more like the video below to better showcase
Federer's amazing footwork abilities
in a glass house.
