20-year-old Zheng Qinwen claimed her maiden WTA title on the red clay in Palermo, notching a 6-4, 1-6, 6-1 triumph over Jasmine Paolini on Sunday at the Palermo Open.

The Spanish-based rising star, coached by Wim Fissette, is the 11th woman from her country to lift a trophy at a WTA event.
Winless since her second-round loss at Roland-Garros, Zheng entered Palermo carrying a four-match losing streak.
But the world No.26 hit the ground running, handing Sara Errani a 6-0, 6-0 shellacking in the first round before winning three of her final rounds in three sets.
