Tamara Zidansek battled past Clara Burel 4-6, 7-6(5), 6-1 in the Lausanne Ladies Open final for her first WTA title.

Sporting adhesive tape across her left leg and displaying deep deisre in her heart, Tamara Zidansek realized her title dream.

The top-seeded Zidansek battled past first-time finalist Clara Burel 4-6, 7-6(5), 6-1 in the Lausanne Ladies Open final for her first WTA title.

The 20-year-old Burel came out firing her forehand with ambition racing through the first eight points in powering to a 5-1 lead. Burel served out the opening set at love then broke to start the second set. 




The 23-year-old Slovenian made a stand. Zidansek broke back winning four of the next five games to go up 4-2 before Burel broke back in the seventh game.

In the tiebreaker, Burel went up 4-2. Zidansek increased the depth of her drives winning five of the final six points of the breaker as Burel committed successive forehand errors to end the second set.

Roland Garros semifinalist Zidansek wore down Burel winning six straight games to seal a two hour, four-minute triumph and her maiden WTA title.
