The inaugural Zhengzhou Open final was delayed nearly six hours due to a torrential rain storm.
When the rain-delayed final began, Martic was quicker off the mark moving out to a 2-0 lead.
The 28-year-old Martic had won four of five meetings with Pliskova, including a 6-3, 6-3, sweep at Roland Garros in June.
However, Pliskova prevailed in their lone hard-court clash, 6-3, 6-4, in Miami in March.
The rangy Czech's serve set up first-strike opportunities for her forehand. Pliskova won eight of the first 10 points played on her serve in the second set storming out to a 5-1 lead.
The world No. 2 captured her 15th career title. Pliskova improved to 4-1 in finals in 2019 collecting championships in Brisbane, Rome and Eastbourne as well.
