Amazon announced a feature-length documentary, Andy Murray: Resurfacing, will be available on Amazon Prime Video starting on November 29th.

Murray: Make Doubles Mandatory

The former world No. 1, whose wife Kim gave birth to the couple's third child last week, provided filmmakers with behind-the-scenes access tracing the challenges he faced in his comeback.

Murray shared the emotional, physical and mental trials and tribulations he experienced during his comeback from hip resurfacing surgery he underwent on January 28th following a tearful Australian Open exit. It was his second hip surgery in a year.

The former Wimbledon champion said he agreed to participate in the film in order to show fans his personal journey and the joy and pain professional athletes encounter.

“I knew I was at a critical point in my career,” Murray said. “At times it felt like I was letting people down by not being able to perform on court, and I wanted to give them an insight into what I was going through. I wanted to show the ups and downs of professional sport."

The documentary features interviews with Murray, his family and rivals Rafael Nadal, Roger Federer and Novak Djokovic.

The two-time Olympic gold-medal champion is hopefuly viewers will come away with an understanding of the passion, commitment and tenacity required to return from surgery and compete with the world's elite.

“The film will take you on a journey through what were some of the lowest, most difficult periods of my life both physically and mentally," Murray said. "And will hopefully show and inspire viewers, that with the right mindset and work ethic, anything is possible.”

On September 24th, Murray topped Tennys Sandgren 6-3, 6-7(6), 6-1 in Zhuhai posting his first ATP Tour-level win since January. It was Murray's first victory since he defeated James Duckworth winning his season opener in Brisbane.

Nearly 10 months after his surgery, the 32-year-old Briton claimed his 46th career title and first since Dubai in February of 2017 when he fought off 34-year-old Stan Wawrinka, 3-6 6-4 6-4 in front of a packed house at the European Open in Antwerp.

"We've been through some very tough times together but we got through it, and to win another tournament -- I don't think any of us expected this," Murray told his family and team as he addressed the crowd after his rollicking performance.

Murray is scheduled to play the Davis Cup Finals in Madrid this month and the ATP Cup in Australia in January.
