Competing at his last career event at the Summer Olympics in Paris, Murray along with Great Britain’s Dan Evans lost their men’s doubles quarterfinal to Americans Tommy Paul and Taylor Fritz 6-2, 6-4.

Murray and Evans captivated tennis fans earlier in the event by saving a total of seven match points in their first two rounds of competition. But, Fritz and Paul proved too tough and too solid as they commanded the match from start to finish to reach the semifinals.

The final match of Murray’s 19-year-career concludes with him having won three major titles (Wimbledon 2013 and 2016 and US Open in 2012), two Olympic Gold Medals in singles (London 2012 and Rio 2016) as well as reach World No. 1.
