Angelique Kerber is without a coach once again.
The three-time major champion, who parted ways with Wim Fissette at the end of 2018 despite winning Wimbledon, has now split with Rainer Schuettler.
Kerber and Schuettler began their partnership last November. The German has struggled with injuries a bit this season, and she has failed to get past the second round of the last two Slams.
The 31-year-old World No.13 comes in at 25-13 on the season, and she has failed to add to her career total of 12 titles.
"Moving forward, it’s never easy to change—especially when you work with great people like Rainer," Kerber posted on Twitter on Friday. "But for now, we’ve decided that it’s the right time for a fresh start. He has become a friend and I‘m thankful for his hard work and dedication in the last months."
The German joins Garbiñe Muguruza as big-name players who are currently without a coach. The Spaniard, a two-time Slam champion, ended her partnership with Sam Sumyk after nearly four years after Wimbledon.
