Nick Kyrgios and Jordan Thompson teamed up to give the Australian Davis Cup team a 2-0 lead over U.S.A. on Friday in Brisbane.

Jordan Thompson got the party started in Brisbane for the Aussies. Nick Kyrgios kept it rolling.
Thompson defeated Jack Sock, 6-3, 3-6, 7-6(4), 6-4, to earn his third Davis Cup victory of 2017. Sock hit 66 unforced errors against 35 winners in the three hour and three-minute affair.
The loss was Sock’s fifth of the season against 18 wins.
Thompson, 22, improved to 8-7 on the season.
In the second rubber Kyrgios out-aced John Isner 20-15 and claimed a 7-5, 7-6(5), 7-6(5) victory to give the Aussies the Day 1 sweep.
Kyrgios earned 10 break points and two breaks of serve.
He was down 5-2 in the third set tiebreaker but rebounded sensationally to win the last five points to close out his straight-sets victory in two hours and 24 minutes.
