When Jack Sock delayed the start to his season by three months following December hip surgery, few would have guessed the injury layoff would grant the 22-year-old American game-changing perspective for his comeback.

In addition to working extensively with Kansas City Chiefs strength coach Brent Salazar as he prepared for his return, Sock also supported his older brother Eric as he recovered from a life-threatening illness. Looking back, he calls the time away from the game a “blessing in disguise.”

His fitness level better than ever, Sock reached the singles fourth round and won the doubles title with partner Vasek Popsisil in his 2015 debut at Indian Wells. He followed that up with a third-round singles run in Miami and an appearance in the doubles final.

Next, he headed to the red clay of Houston where he blazed his way through the ATP World Tour 250 draw, upsetting two Top 20 players en route to the first title of his career.

After his semifinal victory over world No. 16 Kevin Anderson at the River Oaks Country Club in Houston, Sock joined us for a very “Chipotle” Lightning Round.

Who would you want to play you in a movie?
Brad Pitt.

What invention would you like to create that would make your life easier?
I would have liked to invent the iPhone. That would make my life pretty easy.

What is your biggest weakness? In tennis?
In life. Ooh…Chipotle.

What is your biggest strength?
My Chipotle card that gives me free Chipotle.

What is your idea of misery?
Never getting to play tennis again. That would be pretty miserable.

Last meal on earth, what would it be?
Chipotle.

Normally we ask about Starbucks orders, but in your case, what is your Chipotle order?
It’s depending on the day and how I feel, but usually a bowl with some rice, black beans, chicken and steak—double meat—that’s crucial. Corn and lettuce. Once in awhile, I’ll add the salad dressing that makes it unbelievable.

Least favorite conditioning exercise?
If Brent, the guy who trains me at home in Kansas City, ever sees this, we have these sleds that we do on the indoor track. It’s on a harness, and we have to run. It’s usually combined in a circuit, but it’s pretty deadly.

Best hair on tour?
[Fernando] Verdasco or [Milos] Raonic, because he tries really hard.

That’s a little known fact, isn’t it?
Milos puts a lot of effort in. Lots of mousse and lots of gel in there. It’s flowing.

Favorite movie quote?
If you ain’t first, you’re last.

Three things you would bring to a deserted island?
My phone, a girlfriend if I had one…

So, no girlfriend now?
No (laughs). And a Chipotle bowl.

Facebook, Twitter or Instagram?
Instagram first, Twitter second and I haven’t been on Facebook in a long time.

Most fashionably challenged American man on tour?
Ooh…

Who is getting thrown under the bus?
Probably Bradley Klahn. Sorry, man.

If you were a rapper, what would your hip-hop name be?
J-Sizzle

Which is better, your dancing skills or your singing voice?
Dancing, 100 percent. I have no musical abilities whatsoever.

Are you saying your dancing is just marginally better than your terrible singing voice?
I’d say I’m a fairly good dancer, actually.

Most embarrassing song or artist on your iPod?
Probably One Direction. I’m ashamed to say it, but it’s on there.

So how heartbroken were you with Zayn’s departure?
I don’t even know the guys’ names to be honest, but they have some catchy songs. I listen to them here and there.

Three words to describe your personality?
Outgoing, personable and goofy.
