The new and improved Caroline Wozniacki added yet another exclamation point to her season. This time in Singapore by booking her spot in the semis of the WTA Finals.

WTA Finals: Sharapova Beats Radwanska, Yet Eliminated From Event

Wozniacki faced off against former event winner Petra Kvitova in the last remaining match in the White Group. Though both women stayed level with each other early in the opening set, big returns from Wozniacki would soon help her cause.

Wozniacki unloaded on a backhand return that soon set up a forehand winner. That gave her the break for a 4-2 lead.

The former No.1 connected on yet another backhand return winner that gave her the set 6-2.

Kvitova started what looked like a comeback in the second set by breaking Wozniacki in the first game. Looking more energized, Kvitova soon enjoyed a 2-0 lead.

But Wozniacki would break back for 2-all as more errors started leaking from the big-striking Kvitova's racquet.

The reigning Wimbledon champion netted a forehand while down break point late in the set. That gave Wozniacki the lead for 5-3.

Wozniacki missed out on one match point in the next game but didn't need to do much with her second match point a few points later. Kvitova sent a forehand long in their rally and that was it.

Wozniacki sealed the 6-2, 6-3 victory giving her a perfect 3-0 record in the group.

Kvitova reeled off 23 unforced errors to just 7 from the Dane. Wozniacki almost matched the number of winners on the day from her opponent. Kvitova hit 16. Wozniacki 11.

"I've been working really hard. It feels great," Wozniacki said about returning to the semifinals of the year-end event.
