Former WTA No.5 Lucie Safarova has tied the knot with Tomas Plekanec, a former NHL star with the Montreal Canadiens, who is now playing his 23rd season of professional hockey with Rytiri Kladno in the Czech Republic.
Safarova, a 2015 Roland Garros runner-up, also won five major doubles titles, held the WTA’s No.1 doubles ranking, earned five Fed Cup crowns and was an Olympic bronze medalist.
The couple announced the birth of their first child, daughter Lea, in 2019.
