Cancellation of the ATP 250 event, scheduled for October 19-25th, and WTA Premier event, which was scheduled for October 26th-November 1st, follows a recent increase in the COVID-19 infection rate in Moscow. As mandated by the Moscow City Administration, the event will no longer be permitted to go ahead in 2020.
Other ATP 250 events in the same week in Antwerp (European Open) and Cologne (Bett1HULKS Championships) are scheduled to proceed as normal. The decision also does not impact staging of the ATP 500 St. Petersburg Open, scheduled for the week prior.
The ATP and WTA say they look forward to the VTB Kremlin Cup returning in 2021.
