After her dramatic three-set win over Venus Williams in the U.S. Open round of 16 on Monday in New York rising Czech Karolina Pliskova sent some high praise in the direction of the Williams sisters when she was asked if she was impressed by Williams’ level at the age of 36.

“I mean, it's huge, huge tennis what she's still playing at that age,” Pliskova said. “I still have the feeling she can play for so many years because she's moving so well. I don't know how she feels. But she's still playing so fast and serving.”
Williams has reached back-to-back quarterfinals at the majors for the first time in six years. Asked to assess her 2016 campaign by a reporter on Monday, Williams was upbeat. “Definitely a ton of positives,” she said. “I'm looking forward to continuing a lot of positives on the court.”
Pliskova has split two matches with Venus thus far, but fully expects to be playing her more down the road.
“If she stays healthy, I think she can still play few years,” Pliskova said.. “I remember her, I was little girl watching her, obviously Serena, on TV. They are still playing. They are still playing the best tennis ever. It's amazing.”
When asked if she felt she would want to play as long as Venus Williams, Pliskova simply said, “Me? No.”
She added: “Well, tennis is a lot for me, but I also want to do other things in the life. But I'm not even 30 yet, so let's see.”
Pliskova will face unseeded 18-year-old Ana Konjuh in her first Grand Slam final on Wednesday. The 24-year-old Czech had never reached the second week of a major in 17 previous appearances.
