Andy Murray proved his physical superiority on Day 4 of the US Open with points like this against Adrian Mannarino. Think about this: During a tournament which has seen an all-time record of 13 men retire from matches on the men’s side, Murray was able to rally from two sets to love down vs. the Frenchman in extreme heat—and he made it look easy.

Cahill: Novak's Return is Best

I'm proud of the way I fought,” said Murray after the match. “It was not an easy match to come through at all. He was making it extremely difficult for me, as well. Thought he played some really, really good tennis. He has such an unorthodox game, I didn't really feel that comfortable at many points out there in the match. But, yeah, I was happy, very happy with the way I fought through that, you know, finished the match stronger than him.”

Murray will square off with Brazilian Thomaz Bellucci in the third round on Saturday in New York. The 2012 US Open champ has now gone 11-1 in his last 12 hard court matches, including snapping a personal eight-match losing streak to Novak Djokovic in Montreal.
