The top-seeded Ferrer, a U2 fan, and Dimitrov, who prefers R & B and hip hop, showed some feel with mallets learning to play Gamelan, traditional Indonesian music.
Ferrer will face veteran Radek Stepanek for a place in the Kuala Lumpur quarterfinals.
Dimitrov, who is seeded fourth in singles, will make his tournament debut in doubles tomorrow partnering veteran Leander Paes.
The pair also took time out for some mini-tennis during a meet-and-greet with Malaysian Open ball kids.
