It's not a typo; Rafael Nadal is down to No. 4 in the world.

New U.S. Open champion Andy Murray passed Nadal in the latest ATP rankings, reaching the No. 3 spot with his thrilling five-set win over Djokovic in yesterday's U.S. Open final. The Scot, surpasses the former No. 1 Nadal, now injured, by more than 1,000 points. Nadal was last ranked fourth on March 22, 2010.

Roger Federer, with a surprising fourth-round exit from the Open, retained his No. 1 spot, extending his lead to 1,335 over Novak Djokovic, who reached the final on Monday, but lost 800 points by failing to defend his title win from the tournament a year ago.

Tomas Berdych, who upset Federer in the fourth round, rose one spot to No. 6, surpassing Jo-Wilfried Tsonga. It's Berdych's highest ranking since May of 2011.
Canadian Milos Raonic climbed one spot to No. 15, a new career high, with No. 16 Kei Nishikori, No. 17 Stanislas Warinka, and No. 18 Philipp Kohlschreiber each gaining two spots behind him.

American Andy Roddick, who announced his retiremetn, fell five spots to No. 27. He retires as the fourth-highest ranked American behind No. 10 John Isner, No. 22 Mardy Fish, and No. 26 Sam Querrey.
