Swiatek returns to action

Three-time Grand Slam champion Iga Swiatek returns to the tour this week. The Pole is 57-7 on the season with seven titles. She has been the dominant player on tour and has already won two major titles.

After a first-round bye she will face either Ajla Tomljanovic or Zhang Shuai.

Sakkari and Badosa Need Wins to Get to Dallas

The Race to the WTA Finals is heating up, and Maria Sakkari and Paula Badosa need some points to get in the mix. The Greek is currently ranked 10th, and Spain's Badosa is ranked 11th. Meanwhile Daria Kasatkina, currently seventh, will look to solidify her position for the season-ending event, which takes place from October 31 to Nov 7 in Dallas Fort Worth.

Kasatkina and Swiatek are the only two players in the draw that currently find themselves in qualifying positions.

Raducanu v Kasatkina, Round 1

There are some great early matchups in Ostrava, including Emma Raducanu v Daria Kasatkina, Shelby Rogers v Barbora Krejcikova, Petra Kvitova v Bernarda Pera and Madison Keys v Elena Rybakina. Check in early in the week as this stacked draw heats up early.
