Petra Kvitova is going to Shenzhen.

The two-time Wimbledon champion booked her seventh WTA Finals appearance and will join Ashleigh Barty, Karolina Pliskova, Simona Halep, Bianca Andreescu, and Naomi Osaka in the singles field.

Kvitova won the event on her debut in 2011 and reached the final in 2015. She owns a 10-12 lifetime record at the WTA Finals and lost all three of her matches in 2018.

"After a great start to the year in Australia I'm really proud to have secured my spot for the seventh time,” the Czech said in a statement on WTATennis.com. “This will be the third city I have visited for the WTA Finals so I'm excited to see what's in store in Shenzhen."

Two spots remain and those are currently held down by Elina Svitolina and Serena Williams, but Dutchwoman Kiki Bertens is nipping on Williams’ heels with just 65 points separating the two, and Belinda Bencic, currently 10th in the Race to Shenzhen is just 230 points behind Williams.

Bertens is the top seed at Linz this week, while Bencic is the second seed.

Two double teams also qualified for Shenzhen on Sunday. The Chan Sisters (Latisha and Angel) and Sam Stosur and Zhang Shuai are the No.5 and No.6 teams to make the cut.
