Coco-Mania is back in Linz this week, but only in doubles.
In other words, it is McCoco time!
World No.110 Coco Gauff fell at the last hurdle in qualifying at the Upper Austria Ladies Linz on Monday, going down in straight sets to Tamara Korpatch of Germany 6-4 6-2. McNally also played qualifying and fell in the first round, losing to Germany's Anna-Lena Friedsam 6-4 6-2.
Gauff, who won five of seven main draw singles matches at Wimbledon and the US Open, led by a break in both sets against Korpatch. She defeated Liudmila Samsonova in the first round of qualies in three sets.
Gauff was broken five times in nine service games in the 73-minute contest.
The 15-year-old American will take her place in the doubles draw alongside fellow American Caty McNally. The Citi Open champions received a wild card and will face Kaitlyn Christian of the US and Alexa Guarachi of Chile in first-round action.
