Belgium’s David Goffin has pulled the plug on his 2018 campaign due to an elbow injury. The Belgian has suffered more than his share of injuries of late, beginning way back in May of 2017 when he injured his ankle falling into a tarp at the back of the court at Roland Garros. Since then he has been hit in the eye with a rogue tennis ball, and suffered shoulder problems on the hard court, not to mention issues with his knees in between.
Goffin says he has a bone edema and that he needs at least to recover. He released the news early Wednesday on social media.
The World No.11 finishes season with a 28-16 record.
He reached the semifinals at Montpellier, Rotterdam, Barcelona and Cincinnati, but did not play any finals.
