Here’s something you don’t see every day in tennis. Think about it. Of all the indoor matches you’ve watches this season, how many times have you seen somebody throw a defensive lob that went so high that it hit the lights?

Video Fuzz: Muguruza Rising, Federer Returns, Hall of Fame Nominations

Leave it to the super-powered Petra Kvitova to achieve the feat in Singapore. The point was awarded to Lucie Safarova right away (it looked like the ball actually landed on the line), but we were wondering: What if the official rule said that a ball remains in play (as long as it lands in) after it hits the lights. Then Kvitova could be the progenitor of a brand new trick shot. When in dire circumstances she could just simply launch a lob into the either. If it smashes some lights or knocks down a video screen to further distract her opponent, even better.

Or, maybe not?

Though she lost the point, Kvitova went on to seal, the 7-5, 7-5 win. It was her eighth victory in eight career contests against Safarova.
