According to Myles, Hogstedt has been considered a contender for the vacant position in Bouchard's camp since the US Open. The 52-year-old Swede has quite the history. In addition to guiding Maria Sharapova to the 2012 Roland Garros title, he’s also worked with Li Na, Caroline Wozniacki, Daniela Hantuchova and Tommy Haas.

This year, Hogstedt spent a brief spell with Sloane Stephens before being named a consultant on Simona Halep’s team. Neither engagement lasted long.
