Novak Djokovic whacked a racquet on his foot so hard that he thought better of using it during his semifinal victory over Stan Wawrinka in Paris on Saturday.

As he went to grab a new racquet the Paris faithful whistled and hooted as they always do, but Novak made sure to make amends for his crimes of passion by making this young ball kid’s day after the match (see video at top of page).

Look at the kid’s genuine joy during their interaction. He’s about as stoked as can be. Hopefully the racquet is ready for match play, but if not, it will be one heck of a souvenir.

It’s not the first time Novak has made friends with a ball kid in Paris. Remember this little interlude from the 2014 French Open?
