South Korea’s rising star and highest-ranked player Hyeon Chung has been travelling under the radar for much of 2015. But that hasn't stopped Chung from proving he's one of the best and brightest young players currently making his way at the ATP-level. In fact, while attention has been doled out lovingly to his fellow young guns—think Borna Coric, Alexander Zverev, Thanasi Kokkinakis and Andrey Rublev, the 19-year-old has carved out a career-high ranking of 51 in the world and is currently the second highest-ranked teenager in the ATP rankings.

Today, Chung got a big vote of approval from his peers as the Suwon, South Korea native was voted the ATP’s most improved player by his fellow players.

Former winners of this award include former and current stars Andre Agassi, Pete Sampras, Michael Chang, Jim Courier, Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic. Chung is the first Korean player in history to receive any ATP Tour award of any kind.

In 2015 Chung climbed more than 120 places on the ATP Tour World Rankings from 173 to a career-high No. 51. He claimed four ATP Tour World Challenger Singles Titles, reached his first ATP Tour Quarterfinal (Shenzhen), became the second highest ranked player from Asia behind Kei Nishikori.

Chung finishes the ATP season with a 12-10 record at the Tour-level. He earned three top-50 wins, over Fernando Verdasco in Houston and Benoit Paire in Winston-Salem and Marcel Granollers in Miami.
