Positive tests for non-specified substances carry a mandatory provisional suspension.
In an Instagram post, the 2016 Istanbul champion said "I know I have done nothing wrong" and denied knowingly violating any anti-doping rules.
"I know I have done nothing wrong, and not only would I never purposefully violate any anti-doping rules but would also oppose anyone who resorts to such tactics," Buyukakcay said in an Instagram video post. "I have had many successes in my career, and none has come easily for me. I have had to work long and hard for them and I don’t wish for them to be negated in the public eye.
"During the upcoming process, I will do everything within my power to defend myself. I am confident that the process will result in my name being cleared of all wrongdoing. I am deeply encouraged by all the positive messages that I have already received and would like to thank everyone for their support."
The world No. 232 appealed her provisional suspension.
The chair of the Independent Panel issued his decision on Thursday, November 4th dismissing Buyukakcay's application to not impose the provisional suspension.
Buyukakcay reached a career-high rank of No. 60 in 2016.
