So what dreams drive the second-ranked Spaniard these days?
In a zoom interview with fans following his Rolex Paris Masters quarterfinal win, a fan named Youssef from Paris asked Nadal what are his dreams?
Nadal say he has "plenty" of dreams left to achieve and highlighted two primary ones: starting a family and continuing to play with passion.
"In terms of my tennis career, the dream is just to keep going," Nadal says at about the 4:05 mark of the video above. "Keep going with the things I am doing and happy doing my job playing tennis and being competitive. So my goal is to just keep going.
"And in terms of life, well there plenty of things to come, hopefully. Of course I want to create a family. There is a lot of experiences to come after tennis, I am sure. So I am excited about what's going on."
Nadal also discusses his favorite shot, how he maintains his sleep schedule and maintains his motivation and passion for the sport.
