Nick Kyrgios punctuated his successful return with a bold Davis Cup declaration: Australia can win the Cup.
Playing his first match since losing to Andreas Seppi in Zhuhai in September, Kyrgios served 78 percent and pumped 16 aces sweeping Alejandro Gonzalez in 71 minutes in the Davis Cup Finals in Madrid. Australian No. 1 Alex de Minaur was a 6-4, 6-3 victor over Daniel Elahi Galan as Australia scored a 3-0 victory over Colombia.

It was Kyrgios' first Davis Cup match since bowing to Alexander Zverev in straight sets in Australia's 3-1 loss to Germany in the 2018 first round.
Australia resides in Group D with Belgium and Colombia and Kyrgios is confident the green-and-gold can capture the Cup weeks after France topped host Australia in the Fed Cup final in Perth.
“We can win it for sure,” Kyrgios told the media in Madrid. “The way Alex is playing ... I know I can beat every single person in this competition and we’ve got great doubles players, John Peers, Jordan (Thompson) can play singles and doubles.
"And we’ve got great energy guys like John Millman, we’ve got good depth.”
