Tennis super fan Kevin Spacey will take the art of the argument to Arthur Ashe stadium.

The Academy Award winning actor and devoted tennis junkie will bring his one-man show on the life of famed lawyer Clarence Darrow to the US Open center stage in June.

Spacey will perform the play on successive nights, June 15-16th, and told Tonight Show host Jimmy Fallon there may be more performances if warranted by popular demand.

While watching a US Open opening-night show, the idea to bring the play to Ashe struck Spacey, who previously performed it in a theater-in-the-round in London.

"A while back I was at the opening of the US Open at Arthur Ashe," Spacey told Fallon. "It was the night they had a concert so there was a band playing the lights were on not normally as it looks.

"I suddenly thought wait a minute, drama happens on this court all the time. And so I am announcing on June 15th and 16th, we're just announcing two performances, we're doing this play about Clarence Darrow at Arthur Ashe Stadium in Queens."

Hall of Famer John McEnroe, who had his share of arguments at the Open, has cited Spacey's brilliant performance in The Usual Suspects as one of his personal favorites.

McEnroe, who guest-starred as a linesman alongside Spacey and Fallon in the show's Mad Lib Theater skit, has hung out with the actor at tennis tournaments and Madison Square Garden events.

Arthur Ashe Stadium seats 23,771 spectators. Spacey says the size of the venue permits affordable ticket prices for students while presenting challenges for the performer.

"You have to think of it this way: Even in the worst seat in the house people pay good money to watch a little yellow ball fly hundreds of miles across the court," Spacey said. "I'm much taller than a little yellow ball and we're also going to use the TV screens so it will feel quite intimate."
