The transgressions of Ile Nastase are already hurting his social life. The Romanian, who made waves by making racist and sexist remarks that got him banned from Romania’s Fed Cup tie with Great Britain in Constanta, Romania on April 22-23, has been banned from attending this year’s Championships. Not only can Nastase not visit the Royal Box, he has been told that he will not be admitted to the grounds, even if he buys a ticket.

Here’s what Wimbledon Chairman, Philip Brook, and Wimbledon CEO, Richard Lewis, said about Nastase, per the Guardian:

“What he did, I think we have to say his actions were not very good and we condemn them. In terms of an invitation to the royal box, he’s not going to receive an invitation.”

Pressed on whether or not he could get through the gates at Wimbledon, the chief executive, Richard Lewis, noted that because of his suspension by the ITF, Nastase would not be allowed on site. “If he is suspended, and we noticed him, he would be stopped,” Lewis said.

Nastase was not pleased to hear that.

"But if they are going to be so small-minded about it, there's nothing I can do,” Nastase said in reply, per the Telegraph. “What does Wimbledon have to do with what I said about Serena and at the match in Romania? If I did something stupid at Wimbledon then I'd understand if I were then suspended. But in this case, I don't get it.

"If they consider it normal to deny someone the chance to watch tennis matches, then that's their problem. It must mean we Romanians are morons... otherwise I don't understand it."
