Former doubles world No. 1 Flavia Pennetta knows her way around the net.
The Italian veteran knows how to use the net as well.
Watch Pennetta benefit from the benevolence of the tape to wrap up a 6-3, 6-4, sweep of No. 8 seed Carla Suarez Navarro.

Pennetta's backhand clips in the tape and carries into the court, Suarez Navarro's final forehand fails to clear it.
Suarez Navarro was Rome runner-up and leads the WTA in match wins this season, but Pennetta probably wouldn't call this an upset. The 28th-seeded Pennetta has beaten the Spaniard five of the last six times they've faced off.
Pennetta returns to the round of 16 for the first time in five years. She will face Suarez Navarro's doubles partner, 21st-seeded Garbine Muguruza, for a quarterfinal spot.
