Serena discusses 'bad' performance - ESPN Video
“I’m practicing unbelievable,” Serena Williams told ESPN’s Mary Joe Fernandez after her 5-7, 6-3, 6-3 victory over 21-year-old German Anna-Lena Friedsam on Day 5. “I didn’t see that today. If you saw my practices you would be surprised.”

Williams hit 52 unforced errors and faced a total of 15 break points during her struggle with Friedsam, but after dropping the opener she stepped up her intensity to gut out the win despite being without her best form on Court Suzanne Lenglen in Paris.
“I really don’t think—outside of my serve because I haven’t had a lot of time to serve—I don’t really need to improve on a lot, but obviously today in the match, I need to just completely start over.”
Williams will face Victoria Azarenka in a heavily anticipated third-round battle after the former No. 1 moved past Lucie Hradecka in straight sets. Williams says she doesn’t feel much pressure to win, even though a title in Roland Garros would mean a 20th Grand Slam for her.
“I don’t really feel any pressure,” she said. “I feel no matter what I do I’ll always have a great career. To be honest the pressure’s really kind of off me right now.”
