Novak Djokovic returns to the top of the ATP rankings for week No.362, after a brief stint at No.2. The world-beating 20-time Grand Slam champion fell behind Daniil Medvedev for a hot minute (three weeks to be precise), but reclaims his top ranking after Medvedev lost in the round of 32 to Gael Monfils.

Djokovic, who will miss Miami due to his unvaccinated status, now sits 55 points ahead of Medvedev, as he begins his sixth stint at No.1. His last run at the top lasted 86 weeks (and the period between March 23 and August 23 in 2020 due to suspended rankings at the beginning of the Coronavirus Pandemic).

Medvedev held the top spot for three weeks, but can take it back from Djokovic with a sterling performance at the Miami Open, where he’s the top seed. If he reaches the semifinals he will pass Djokovic.

Here’s the draw for the Miami Open:

Medvedev has a first-round bye. These are his potential opponents at Miami:

Round 2: Delbonis or Murray
Round 3: Pedro Martinez/ Jan-Lennard Struff v Cristian Garin winner
Round 4: [15] Bautista Agut or [18] Basilashvili (possibly Brooksby, who could face Basilashvili in round 2)
QF: [12] Shapovalov or Hurkacz [8] (if seeds hold)
SF: [3] Tsitsipas or [7] Auger-Aliassime or [11] Fritz or [14] Alcaraz if seeds hold
F: [2] Zverev or [4] Berrettini or [5] Rublev if seeds hold.
