Rafael Nadal is aiming to stay spotless in Acapulco.
The second-seeded Spaniard crushed Paoli Lorenzi, 6-1, 6-1, to reach the Acapulco quarterfinals and raise his record to 12-0 at the Mexican tournament.

Continuing his quest for his first hard-court title since the 2014 Doha tournament, Nadal will face the lowest-ranked man still standing in the field, Japanese qualifier Yoshihito Nishioka, for a semifinal spot.
The 86th-ranked left-hander won two matches in qualifying and has gone the distance twice in the main draw defeating seventh-seeded Jack Sock and lucky loser Jordan Thompson, to set up his first career meeting with Nadal.
In contrast, the two-time Acapulco champion has dropped just nine games in two victories this week.
Still, Nadal is not counting on anything.
"It will be something new for both of us, so surprises or no surprises we all know each other’s game here," Nadal said. "He has been playing very well during the whole tournament, he has worked his way up, he has won four consecutive matches so he’s feeling confident. He doesn’t make mistakes, therefore I’ll have to be ready and stay focused and with high intensity."
