Alcaraz Fan Plays for NBA Title with Eye on Paris

By Alberto Amalfi | @Tennis_Now | Thursday, June 1, 2023

Coffee connoisseur Jimmy Butler pumped up to play for the NBA title by watching the world No. 1 in action.

Miami Heat all-star Butler is friends with both 2022 Roland Garros runner-up Coco Gauff and 2022 US Open champion Carlos Alcaraz.

Djokovic: Drama-Free Slam Can't Happen for Me

Butler visited the Miami Open in March to watch his friends in action and is reportedly a solid tennis player himself.

Tennis fan Butler warmed up for the Heat taking on Nikola Jokic and the Denver Nuggets in the NBA Finals watching Alcaraz beat Taro Daniel in Paris.

Sporting a New York Mets baseball cap, watch Butler root on Alcaraz from the comfort of his couch.

While Alcaraz is backing Butler, rival Novak Djokovic is all in on Denver.

Citing his respect for fellow Serbian superstar Jokic, the Djoker is rooting on the Joker for the NBA crown.

"Go Jokic, go Denver all the way," Djokovic told the media at Roland Garros after defeating Marton Fucsovics 7-6(2), 6-0, 6-3 to reach the third round. "I really like Jimmy Butler, I think he's a great guy. I admire him a lot. I'm a big basketball fan. I know he's been coming to watch some of the tennis tournaments in States, Jimmy.

"But, you know, I've got to support my man Joker. So, yeah, I hope they win their first ring."
