It has not been a good clay-court season for Aussie Nick Kyrgios. He had to miss the Estoril Open due to the loss of his beloved grandfather and he has never admittedly put his head back on track or put in the time on the practice court to give himself a shot at success over the grind of the European clay-court swing.

He says he was surprised to have a one set lead on South Africa’s Kevin Anderson on Day 5 at Roland Garros, but when things turned against him Kyrgios lost his temper and fell to Anderson in four.

That was good news for Anderson but bad news for Kyrgios’ racquets. Two of them were smashed along with this poor, innocent Perrier advert box.

Reportedly Kyrgios had some fun with the crowd later in the match (whether he intended to or not) when he asked a fan for a beer.

“Get me a beer now,” he said, according to News.com.au. “Honest to God, get me one now.”

When a spectator responded “You’re kidding”, Kyrgios said: “I don’t think so.”

Later, Kyrgios would tell reporters that he hasn’t been able to find his mojo due to lack of practice.

“We both know that I’ve just got to practice,” Kyrgios said, referring to himself and new coach, Sebastien Grosjean. “During Indian Wells and Miami time, I was practising a lot. “Yeah, I mean, after my grandpa passing, I just lost a lot of motivation to do anything, really.”
