Second Serve

Rafael Nadal played over Alex de Minaur's head with a jaw-dropping tweener lob.

Showing prescience sprinting with his back to net, Nadal anticipated the Aussie teenager closing net and answered with this magical tweener lob.

The shot left de Minaur wearing the bemused smile of a man who had seen it all.

"I felt he was coming very close to the net so I thought it was a good idea to try it," Nadal told ESPN's Brad Gilbert afterward. "I had the wind with me so I thought maybe this is my chance, my only chance, to make the lob."

The second-seeded Spaniard rolled into the fourth round, 6-1, 6-2, 6-4.

It's the second circus shot Nadal has made this tournament after this astounding sky hook.

So which shot was tougher to pull off?

"For me, personally, probably the [tweener lob] was tougher," Nadal said. "I feel that with the other one I have better chances to repeat it."
