In the aftermath of his rant against Australian Tennis leaders Craig Tiley and Pat Rafter, 22-year-old world No. 26 Bernard Tomic has been suspended from his nation’s Davis Cuip tie against Kazakhstan, which is to be played from July 17-19 in Darwin, Australia.

“Playing for our country is an absolute privilege, and with that privilege comes an obligation to behave appropriately,” said Australian Tennis president Craig Healy. “He didn't."
"The allegations are misinformed and untrue and he publicly derided some outstanding people," added Healy. "We are trying to build a strong culture underpinned by a philosophy of opportunity, not entitlement."
According to the statement, no further punishment for Tomic is planned.
"The sanction of not selecting Bernard in this tie is sufficient," Healy said.
