Things are tightening significantly in France in terms of vaccination requirements, and that could be very impactful when it comes to Novak Djokovic’s next steps.

According to Cédric Rouquette of Tennis Majors, the ATP circulated an email with the subject line an email to notify players that they “have been informed by the French Tennis Federation that legislation will soon be passed by the French Government prohibiting non-vaccinated athletes from competing in any sporting event.”

The email warns that an exemption for players who have recently recovered from Covid-19 is likely off the table.

“It is currently uncertain whether players who have recently recovered from Covid-19 will be allowed to compete unless they have completed at least one dose of a two-dose vaccine,” the email said. “Further clarification from the French Government is required.”

French parliament has just voted to approve a vaccine pass that will replace the current health pass, and it will leave most public spaces available to only the vaccinated.
