The draw at this year’s Delray Beach Open has been set, but Reilly Opelka, the defending champion, will not take part. The World No.39 American was a late withdrawal on Monday due to a knee injury, just before the singles and doubles draws were released.
The tournament has seen a few big names withdraw in recent days, including Andy Murray, Kei Nishikori, Milos Raonic and Vasek Pospisil. It’s a difficult time for players, as many do not want to risk missing the Australian Open quarantines dates, a scenario which could potentially come into play if a player either receives a positive Covid-19 test or is deemed to have been in close contact with someone else who did.
Chile’s Cristian Garin, who won his third and fourth ATP titles in 2020, will play as top seed in Florida, with John Isner seeded second, Adrian Mannarino seeded third and Hubert Hurkacz seeded fourth. Each of the top four seeds will receive byes into the second round of the 28-player event.
Below is the full draw:
Legends, featuring Mike and Bob Bryan, Tommy Haas, Robby Ginepri and others, as well as qualifying will take place across the grounds from Monday January 4 to Wednesday January 6. Main draw action begins on Thursday January 7.
